The Black Sox would like to officially welcome Gavin Garay to the squad! This is a move that was finalized back in September while the Sox were still fighting for the 2021 HVNABA Championship. Up until that point Gavin had absolutely no connections to the Sox until he started working out at CF845. Pure luck has it, that is where Mike Orefice has been working out for quite some time! It didn't take long for Orefice to land Gavin for the Sox in 2022! Garay will add even more firepower to an already explosive lineup. Gavin who is from Lagrangeville played for Kennedy Catholic HS in Somers, then played for St Johns and St Petersburg College before being drafted by the NY Mets in 2017 and retired in 2019. During his sophomore college season Gavin hit .357 with 14 doubles, 3 triples, 5 HRs and had 40 rbi! In his 3 years in the minors Gavin crushed 10 HRs in just 85 games while hitting .268 at the professional level.
